An industry-insider told Mumbai Mirror, “UTV wanted Salman. They even held a screening of Arya 2 for him. But, later, Salman declined the offer.”
Trade circles were buzzing about Khan’s involvement in this UTV project for the last couple of months. However, the insider added, “It’s definitely true that Salman won’t star in Arya 2. Nobody is aware of his reason for refusing the film.”
Arya 2 is a 2009 Telugu romantic sequel to the 2004 superhit Arya, starring Allu Arjun. Arya 2 saw Allu Arjun paired with Kajal Aggarwal of Singham fame. Director Sukumar was the captain of both the ships.
After all, this is not the first time that Khan has said no to a South Indian remake. Earlier, he refused Mahesh Babu’s Hindi remake of Dookudu. Apparently, Khan wasn’t keen on playing a cop for the sixth time in Dookudu.
Salman Khan masterminded Sonakshi Sinha’s dream debut in Bollywood by picking her as his co-star in the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg and the talented actress deftly capitalized on the opportunity.

Two years later, Sonakshi is already a star that producers trip over each other to sign up for their films. Interestingly, she has yet to be tested at the box office for a second time since Dabangg, but no one seems to doubt her talent.
Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will soon get back together on set filming for Dabangg sequel and this time around the equation between them will be slightly different: When the film goes to theaters, Sonakshi will complement Salman’s prodigious star appeal, not just ride it, and that could result in the film being an even bigger draw than Dabangg.
Salman, 46, will begin filming for Dabangg 2 in Mumbai from March 9. Sonakshi, 24, will join on set on March 17. The two will reprise their roles of Inspector Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo respectively.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan, who is additionally the producer of the Dabangg series and stars in the films.
Salman tells DNA, “Arbaaz always wanted to be a director, and when Abhinav (Kashyap) dropped out of the film, he decided to direct it himself. I’m sure he will do a good job, but most of all I’m very happy that Arbaaz is finally getting to live his dream!”
Salman recently returned from over a month long shooting schedule in Cuba for YRF production’s Ek Tha Tiger with co-star Katrina Kaif. The film is almost complete with just the climax scene remaining to be filmed. It will wrap before Salman starts filming for Dabangg.
Salman plans to work on his second brother, Sohail Khan’s film soon after wrapping Dabangg 2, but says it may not be Sher Khan.
“I don’t know if it’s going to be Sher Khan as we have liked two scripts. We’ll begin work on whichever gets finalized first.”
Dabangg 2 is scheduled to release on December 21.

Akashdeep Saigal nee Sky Walker speaks exclusively about his ‘bad experience’ with the hosts of Bigg Boss-5 in a candid chat with us…
There was a time when even Sanjay Dutt and Salman were rather miffed with you. Have you made peace with them?
I was shocked that Salman Khan came into celebrity home, attacked me personally, attempted to demoralise me and put me in a bad light. I’m glad that I was respectful, held my ground and maintained my dignity. I met a lot of viewers post Bigg Boss who told me that they were upset to see me being picked on by the hosts. And in hindsight I can say their victimisation of me won me many hearts and friends.

Well obviously he’s trying to gain publicity by using Salman Bro’s name in a bad light!! God Bless Salman Bro<3 !!

Q. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is Salman Khan’s biggest hit but which would be second biggest Dabangg or Bodyguard?
A. Second biggest is probably Maine Pyaar Kiya followed by Dabangg in third place.
Q. Is it possible that Agneepath in 1990 did not do well as audience was changing and the romance fever was on due to Maine Pyaar Kiya?
A. Maine Pyar Kiya may have affected it a the box office as it was so strong and its 9th week numbers at many stations were better then second week of Agneepath but its unlikely to be a changing audience as an action fare like Ghayal was a huge grosser a few months later.
