Here’s what the programmers of various multiplex chains across India have to say about the first day (so far) of Ek Tha Tiger (ETT):

Mukesh Unchade of PVR Cinemas: The response has been outstanding. At PVR multiplexes across India, the first-day collections of the film are 100 per cent. Advance booking drew an 80-per cent response and only a handful of tickets were left for sale today. On average, we have 20 to 22 shows of the film at most of ourproperties. The highest ticket is priced at Rs 1,000 and the lowest at Rs 130 (early morning shows).

Harshad Parmar, Cinemax: Advance booking for Ek Tha Tiger was extraordinary, at 60

to 70 per cent. The opening of the film was brilliant and every show has been running house full far. Being a public holiday, the release date is positive and people will watch the film because it boasts Salman Khan. We have around 27 shows at our Versova property in Mumbai. On average, the highest and lowest tickets are priced at Rs 450 and Rs 70 (early morning shows) respectively.

Nitin Tambat, Big Cinemas: We received a 60-per cent response to advance booking. The film took a 100-per cent opening at our properties. The audience was very eager to watch the Ek Tha Tiger due to the star power of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. This movie will turn out to be a blockbuster. On average, we have a minimum 15 shows at each of our properties. The highest ticket is priced at Rs 380, up from Rs 350, and morning shows have the lowest rates of Rs 100.

Ansh Kapoor of Fun Cinemas: We sold 35,000 tickets for Ek Tha Tiger during advance booking, which is huge for us. The film took an opening of 95 per cent at Fun properties. The 7 am show ran house full and thanks to advance booking, the 12 am shows too are all sold out. Our tickets are priced at Rs 400 and Rs 130. We have 17 shows at each of our premises.

Prakash Narayan Tendurkar of Broadway: The opening of Ek Tha Tiger at Broadway all over India was nearly 100 per cent. Our ticket prices range from Rs 110 to Rs 325, and we have around 20 shows at some of our main properties. Advance booking saw a response of 50 to 60 per cent. We expect a fruitful weekend.
