EK THA TIGER is a huge blockbuster and the numbers are speaking for themselves. However many still believe that if only the film would have incorporated more action sequences (as was promised in the promos) with some more ‘masala’ elements, 200 crores just from India would have already been surpassed. Guess this is something that even Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala are aware of, as a result of which KICK is being looked at as an out and out action affair with dollops of humour in it.
”If you see the original KICK, you would realise that there is romance in the film but only at the peripherals. Compared to EK THA TIGER which had love at the centre-stage, KICK doesn’t demand too much of mush and romance. It is a popcorn entertainer and that’s the way Sajid and Salman wish to keep the Hindi remake as well,” informs our source.
Given the fact that Sajid Nadiadwala has to his credit over a dozen odd films, most of them being money-spinners, and he realises that audience has to be given what is promised, even KICK - as the name suggests - has been designed as a film that would give a positive KICK to the audience.
”When Sajid made HOUSEFULL series, he kept it a laugh riot all through. When he was making family affairs like MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI or HAR DIL JO PYAAR KAREGA, he made the audience aware about the content well in advance. For a young movie like ANJAANA ANJAANI, he ensured that promos and music targeted college going students. Even earlier for ‘masala’ flicks like JEET and JUDWAA, he made sure that the films reached out to a widespread audience base. Now even for KICK, he is well aware about the huge target base he is catering to. It is going to be an unpretentious ‘masala’ outing,” the source adds.
