Director Kabir Khan is basking in the success of his blockbuster film, Ek Tha Tiger (ETT) and life has taken a somewhat new direction. “A successful film does open up doors. New York opened doors and the same is with ETT. With the monstrous success of my film, people believe in my ideas more. But life’s still the same except for a few changes,” says the director.
As for media speculations regarding making of the film with Shahrukh, Kabir clarifies, “Tiger was made with Salman in mind. This is a case of misreporting. If I would have made the film with Shahrukh, it would have been something different. Talking about Salman Khan whose record at the box office has taken everybody by surprise, Kabir adds, “There’s a mass hysteria where Salman Khan is concerned. We never made ETT thinking it will be Salman’s biggest grosser”.
Apart from Salman, Kabir says the other superstars of the industry include the Badshah of Bollywood- Shahrukh Khan, actors Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar. Also adding, “Ranbir Kapoor is a superstar on the rise”. From the heroines, it has to be Katrina Kaif. “She’s incredibly popular”.
With ETT’s success, Kabir Khan is working on two ideas but it’s still in a premature stage for the director to comment on currently. With ETT being the second biggest grosser (after 3 Idiots), we wonder if Kabir’s next will beat ETT’s record at the box office!
