★ Most Profitable Actor award for Salman at an award function !

The year 2012 was a bumper year for Bollywood and now it’s time for awards. ETC Bollywood Business Awards, hosted by Komal Nahta, is back with its third edition. The event, which evaluates winners on the basis of a film’s revenues, not only recognises actors and directors, but also marketers, distributors, production houses and exhibitors. The year gone by, was crucial for the film industry in terms of trade figures with top grossers like Agneepath, Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan, Rowdy Rathore, Barfi, Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan among others. 

While Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif bagged the Most Profitable Actor and Actress awards respectively, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinhawere given the Highest Grossing Actor and Actress awards. 

Says Sonakshi, “It feels good when numbers talk and when numbers are appreciated because there are very few awards that actually give credit to the business side of a film.” 

Anurag Bedi, Business Head, says, “This initiative is our way of recognising the various people associated with a film, who are as important as the stars on screen. The awards use trade, business and profitability as yardsticks in deciding the success of a movie.” 

The awards will air tonight on ETC at 7 pm.
