A. When the first film is a huge one then 10-15% growth is good enough. Dabangg 2 may show a10% growth for Dabangg and thats a big number.
Q. Is Salman Khan ahead of Shahrukh Khan in Overseas today as well as India?
A. Overseas it is still Shahrukh Khan though the gap is not as big as it was 8-10 years ago.
Q. What will be the final profit for Dabangg 2?
A. Around 100 crore but this is without Salman Khan’s acting fee.

Q. What is the word of mouth on Dabangg 2?
A. Its generally good but expectations were very high because of the first film so there is always that initial reaction that film is not as good as first one which is the norm. But it is good word of mouth and the film should sustain well into week two.
Q. Will Dabangg 2 beat Ek Tha Tiger and Three Idiots?
A. Three Idiots looks tough but the Ek Tha Tiger number is a possibility. At the moment it has a 50-50 chance to beat Ek Tha Tiger. Wednesday figures will give a better idea.
Q. How many actual hit films have there been this year?.
A. 15 hit films. Agneepath, Kahaani, Housefull 2, Vicky Donor, Ishaqzaade, Rowdy Rathore, Bol Bachchan, Cocktail. Raaz 3, Barfi!, OMG! Oh My God, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son Of Sardaar and Dabangg 2.
Q. Three Idiots was released on Christmas and and despite cold in North it went on to be biggest grosser so that can’t really be an excuse for Dabangg 2?
A. It can’t be excuse as far as lifetime business is concerned but initially the base is much wider today than 2009 so you are expecting much more people to brave the cold than in 2009. Eventually the lifetime business will not be affected as people will watch it but you can’t get the same daily footfalls in cities affected by cold weather that you would with normal weather.

Q. Will Dabangg 2 beat the all time record of Three Idiots?
A. Looking at the MG’s the film is fetching from exhibitors it seems like exhibitors expect Three Idiots to be crossed but its all based on hype and craze. So if the content is above average it will be the biggest grosser ever due to the huge start.
Q. What is the budget of Dabangg 2?
A. Around 40 crore production cost and 20 crore approx for Marketing and Prints. This is without Salman Khan’s fee which in the market can go 50 crore plus today.

Q. Looking at business of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Talaash, Khiladi 786, etc does it not make Ra.One look very good and at time it was trashed much more than these films?
A. In hindsight, the Ra.One 115 crore number looks good but this year the growth in business has been huge, just the films have not been good enough to show the growth. Dabangg 2 should change that though
Q. If Salman Khan is number 1-10 who is next best and anyone beat him?
A. The next best can be anyone on his day. If Salman Khan sticks the commercial action genre the only challenger will be age unless some young star can become a mass action star.

Q. Is Salman Khan the only Khan now as even Aamir Khan will not have a big grosser with Talaash?
A. It still remains to be seen where Talaash goes. They are all still Khans but right now you can say Salman Khan is the biggest by a fair margin. Also if Talaash does not gross big its more to do with the genre, director, writers, music etc and film in general, not Aamir Khan because whatever it does will be because of him.
Q. Will Dabangg 2 gross more than Dabangg?
A. It will be a huge shock if it does not.

A. It will nowhere near Ek Tha Tiger but could just edge Don 2 and be Shahrukh Khan’s biggest Worldwide grosser.

A. 100 crore is irrelevant today. There has been a huge jump in business this year that 100 crore actually does not mean much. Hopefully Dabangg 2 will actually show the how much the potential opening has jumped this year.

Q. The media is always talking about Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan as being the biggest stars but here in my city its Aamir Khan and that will be the case in other parts of the countryas well.
A. You are from Bangalore and Aamir Khan is easily number one in Bangalore and in the circuit of Mysore but in at other places its generally Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan in some pockets of India and Overseas.
