Mumbai, May 15: Bobby Deol, who is playing a huge Salman Khan fan in his forthcoming comedy “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2”, will be seen imitating the superstar’s signature steps in the song “Changli changli”.
A source close to the team revealed that the song will see Bobby replicating Salman’s “Dabangg” and “Ready” styles, among others, to impress his on-screen girlfriend, played by Neha Sharma.
“Films are written in a way where people can relate to it. It’s a comedy, so we have used different things - my character is supposed to be a Salman Khan fan,” Bobby told IANS and clarified “it is not a tribute to Salman Khan as such”.
Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2” also features Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Anupam Kher, among others. It is releasing June 7.
Salman Khan at the moment is on the best run that a leading male actor has ever seen. His last five films have a combined total close to the 1200 crore gross mark worldwide.
It is the first time that an actor has given five blockbusters in a row although it must also be said that it is easier today to give bigger hits as business is all about initial week so star power takes a film a long way where as 20 years ago films had to run for twenty five weeks to be blockbusters and 40 years ago it was a fifty week run that made a film a blockbuster.
The worldwide GROSS figures of Salman Khan’s last five films are as follows.

“Interestingly, of the top 10 films that have been the fastest to reach the mark, Salman Khan rules the roost with 5 of his film on the top, the longest being Ready taking 14 days to reach Rs. 100 crore.”
Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994): Every girl’s dream of the perfect lover and the perfect wedding came true in ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’. With 14 songs in its kitty, the movie has touched and still touches the hearts of all its viewers. The songs, dance sequences, love, bonding and family values all round up to a must-watch for cinema freaks.
Andaz Apna Apna (1994):One of the best comedy films till date, this movie – which stars Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor – is widely remembered for its songs, unique storyline and witty one-liners like ‘Teja main hoon mark idhar hai’. Not to forget the acting of all the actors too.
Dabangg (2010):Salman Khan – whose movies rarely flop at the Box Office – delivered a power-packed performance in ‘Dabangg’. Known for his witty lines and natural acting, Chulbul Pandey went on to create history with one of Bollywood’s highest grossing movies ever.
Actor-turned-director Arbaaz Khan intends to take the ‘Dabangg’ franchise ahead but would like to direct and produce other films as well.
Arbaaz turned producer with ‘Dabangg’ in 2010 and the second instalment ’Dabangg 2’ (2012) saw him directing as well producing the film. Now he is keen to take the series ahead.
“It (‘Dabangg’) has the potential to go forward and there is good likelihood that it will. But when, how it will happen, I don’t know… It may happen in two or four years, I don’t know when exactly. There is definitely a potential that it can go into third sequel,” Arbaaz told .
Apart from the ‘Dabangg’ series, Arbaaz would also like to make other kind of films as a producer and director.
“I would want to… I would like to direct a film before one more film in the ‘Dabangg’ series. That is something which would really excite me. As a producer also I might take up a film soon. I might put up a film that would excite me, by early next year,” he said.
Arbaaz would like to work with his brother Salman, who featured in both of his films, again, provided he is free of his other film commitments.
“I will try to (do a film with him). But he is a very busy actor. He has commitments to honour. We have to wait for him for sometime, which is not a bad idea. Why wouldn’t any one wait for him, forget that he is my brother. I think a director might not do anything for two or three years than waiting for him,” he said.
“But looking at Salman’s commitments he won’t be available for next two years. That is the earliest time, he can take more time - say three or four years. In these two years, I can give momentum to my production house. In that time period I should grow my company, production house or produce or direct films,” he added.
